The Vice President of Construction and Development acting as Owner Representative to Uptown 240, specializes in Construction Management of Type 5 Residential and Commercial to Type 1 High Rise. Mike has his Class A Denver Contractor’s License and Best Built Practices certifications.
Mike attended college and graduated with a BS degree in Natural Sciences Construction Management with a Business Management minor from the University of Northern Iowa. Beginning as an Iron worker for a larger Industrial construction company building water treatment plants and mining facilities throughout Colorado and New Mexico. At the end of the internship, had become an Assistant Superintendent. After moving to Colorado in 1979, Mike began work with a Heavy and Highway contractor building bridges and concrete highways. He Supervised crews for 5 years building bridges along the I-70 and I-25 corridor including 7 post tension segmental bridges through Glenwood Canyon along the Colorado River. In 1985, he diversified into the commercial and High-end Home and Condo building as the market was hot in the resort areas of Colorado and there was a need for superintendents. During that time, Mike built projects ranging from high end mountain resort mid-rises and parking structures in Vail and Aspen to large apartment complexes in Denver. He managed crews building Factory Stores, Strip Malls, Restaurants, Medical facilities and High-rise hotels / condos. As the market took a tumble in the in the Multi-family / commercial markets in 2009, Mike pivoted to the Heavy Civil work again taking him to New Orleans working with the Army Corps of Engineers.

Our experience includes hospitality, work-force housing, affordable housing projects, hospitality, adaptive reuseprojects, high-density urban infill, transit oriented developments (TOD’s), high rise mixed use developments, and low rise suburban projects. We have detailed projects with many construction types, including wood-frame Type V and Type III construction, concrete frame and posttensioned concrete slab, and steel frame construction. We have the proven ability to create solutions that demonstrate and document compliance with all applicable building and zoning codes, fire and life safety codes, and all local, state and national accessibility codes, while at the same time producing innovative unit designs that recognizeand celebrate the way people want to live in their homes. STUDIO PBA has an experienced staff of nearly 40 architects and designers who bring a vast array of skill and knowledge to our projects. Our office is made up of project teams built around a collaborative environment. In addition to our design teams, we have a dedicated Contract Administration department that works hand in hand with the design teams to service our projects to the final certificate of occupancy.
